The result is a blind which is functional, simple to operate and reliable.

Equipleat® means Equal Pleat. It provides a patented method of ensuring that the pleats of a pleated blind of any shape and hanging at any angle will remain evenly spaced when extended. Blinds without this feature can suffer from two problems.

The fabric, particularly on blinds hanging vertically, will tend to remain bunched at the bottom of the blind giving an uneven appearance. Secondly, pleated fabric cut to the shape of an irregularly shaped window will only conform to that shape if the fabric is evenly spaced across the window. In a triangular blind, for instance, the fabric will be the correct width at the base and the apex of the triangle.

However, it will not cover the window completely if the fabric for the middle of the blind tends to remain gathered at the base of the triangle. Equipleat® pleated blinds can be 'free hanging' - fixed only at the top. Alternatively, they can be fixed at the top and bottom - supported along their length by tensioned cords.

Free hanging blinds are suitable for rectangular, vertical windows. Blinds which are fixed at the top and bottom are suitable for all types of windows. In particular they are ideal for windows which are not vertical or which are not regular in shape - for instance blinds fitted in a sloping conservatory roof.

Equipleat® pleated blinds can be made to cover windows and openings of almost any shape. Blinds can be triangular, rectangular or many sided. They can be semicircular or can even cover a circular opening if two semicircular are used back to back.

Materials of Construction

Equipleat® blinds are made from first class materials. The slim rail sections are extruded aluminium and the majority of the internal components are made from UV stabilised polycarbonate. The cord lock, used only in free hanging blinds, includes a special design of rotating brass barrels for smooth operation and reduced cord wear.

Equipleat® and Compleat blinds are made from corrosion resistant materials.
